2 cups graham flour
1 quart of sour milk
1 tablespoonful of melted butter
Soda enough to make it foam
Salt to taste
1.Prepare the sour milk mixture:
In a mixing bowl, pour the sour milk.
Add the baking soda to the sour milk. You will notice it starts to foam and bubble. This reaction helps the bread rise and become fluffy.
2.Mix in wet ingredients:
Stir in the melted butter into the sour milk mixture.
Add the salt and mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly combined.
3. Incorporate the flour:
Gradually add the graham flour to the wet mixture, stirring continuously until a soft dough forms. The dough should be slightly sticky but manageable. If it's too dry, add a little more sour milk. If too wet, add a bit more flour.
4.Knead the dough:
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface.
Knead the dough gently for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
5. Shape the loaf:
Place the kneaded dough into the prepared loaf pan.
Smooth the top with a spatula or your hands to ensure an even shape.
6.Bake the bread:
Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown
